08 : Selby Open Air Festival – 20JUN10
The sun was shining, the field was packed, the stage was set, the anticipation was high.
Jock was sweating when his pedals developed a mind of their own and wouldn't work, Ben was giving him the evils, Mad Dawg sighed, Kenbar waited patiently and Filth came to the rescue with spares…
…and so we kicked off our set of original songs, sticking out from the tributes but booked on being seen we knew we could deliver with confidence. The crowd got into it immediately. There was dancing, singing and cheering and when Jock and I went out to sell the CDs it was all positive feedback.
A great event, the organisers should be proud and I am sure were praying for the sunshine they got, no hassle, no egos and a quiet pint afterwards where I met an 89 year-old man with no teeth, he wanted to know if we had any dirty women living in our neck of the woods (Selby apparently is short on supply)…I didn't confirm either way but did wonder what he would do with one if he found one!
God bless him, I hope I have the same energy at 89!!
