Pics: Jamaican Rain.The room was full of good men and women doing the unselfish thing just coming out on a Saturday evening not watching the tele and supporting a worthy cause in a beautiful town that we call home. We all have a moment whether it be a moment with a new partner, whether it be a moment of sorrow, whether it be a fleeting glimpse of the future or like our drummer Mad Dawg John Dowd last night a reflection of the past. The past being playing drums for 50 years, John was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to his art. Dawg isn't a man who likes fuss or even attention, just enjoys the day, the moment – it was certainly his and he embraced it like only he could with a little tear and a lot of humour.
Great night, great moment, good friend.
