18 : Alford Music Festival – 27AUG07
We didn't have Mad Dawg on this gig so upon travelling to the gig we missed 'Ruby, Ruby, Ruby', pig noises AND 'She was only the fishmonger's daughter, she lay on a slab and said fillet' and all the other pleasantries that go wit Dawg…but we had a laugh, FULL marquee, great sound from Nick and a good craic with oor Joolz getting a huge applause for the ballads.
The band were impeccable, just give them an audience and as that young girl Kate Abbot said, 'Street theatre at its best, raw unadulterated music wit some chaotic melody and superb vocal harmonies.'
The boys were on their own planet Jock called individual solos and all of them in turn played something totally out there you know I mean nowhere no I mean anywhere else but definitely beyond Jock's comprehension but it worked, credit to them.
Anyone out there having any small parties between now and Christmas, give the boys a shout, I heard Mugger and McLelland say they want a few acoustic gigs to try out some new material for the price of their beer bill, well there's a cheap night, mmmm? Small boozers and big houses, or was it small troosers and big blouses, anyway great day out, finished off wit probably the best fish 'n' chips I have eaten in ages.
