Well, it was a good job Hammer didn't come because we wouldn't have fitted him on the trailer stage. It was a good old fashioned doo in a barn, hog roast, free beer and thank you we were well looked after.
Bit of a change from Wychwood, it reminded me of the time we played The Palladium one Sunday in June 2001 and then the next week we did a gig for Pilgrim Hospital in a conference hall…Rock & Roll and a gig is what you make it and poor auld Ben he was getting moaned at because he couldn't hear: Too near the drums and not enough space to place his amp behind him was causing a few problems. Our roadie Trace took it all in, she looks out for the young boys in the band. She's bought up nine children of her own, yes I said nine.
'Ever thought he might NOT be able to hear guys??' and a quick check evaluates blimey the boy needs those ears cleaning out!! So Ben's off to the ear man this week and me well I need to get off his case. George and Ben they are great lads and such talented musicians…we love you boys and we wouldn't want to be without you.....ever.
Thanks to Sleaford muso Mike who turned up and did a few tunes…they were grand.
