It was a long drive back after the night before and the crew were washed out, they had partied until the early hours and it was showing by our first set at 9.30 – we were ready for cocoa.

The Trike Rally was superb and the Chapters had travelled from Scotland, Germany, Eire and the rest of our green and pleasant land. We had a new sound crew on board and they coped as best they could – the hall was a bouncy new place, great for badminton but not gigs. Anyway, Dedboy opened with his set and went down a storm, this was a boy with deliverance and the crowd cheered with humble appreciation. It takes great nerve to deliver original material to a clan of leather-stead bikers, especially as the night before they threw a band off the stage!

The band pulled a lot of the new stuff out to practise and it went down well, we thought Joolz might call all the auld easy traditionals but oh no she made us work and work through our tiredness, and we did. Mad Dawg Dowd was in fine form and took Dedboy under his wing, that'll be the last we'll see of him then! It was a laugh and that is what we do best, Mugger and O'Brealey camped over so I hate to think how they looked the next morning, probably like a couple of hairy-arsed bikers.
