Band From County Hell
Be afraid…be very afraid!

06 : The Sun Inn, Saxilby – 21APR07

Great night out and the lads were a little apprehensive. Mad Dawg was away to Monahan to visit his brother so Jock had to coach Mugger into having a wee dram wit him, and he did. The new songs got an airing and my favourite was 'Late Lost Souls', although 'Famous' and 'Mammy' went down a storm.

The sound of McLelland was a welcome return – it's been 15 years since I've seen him play that mouth organ, this was the time that I first saw him busking wit his mate Bushy on Argyle Street in Glasgow, I knew then that boy had something unique and it's definitely in his new songs, they're Fkn magic.

Wild Willy was good on the bongos or congos or whatever they were, the boys are definitely gaining new direction and confidence in these songs, if I'm going into battle give me a Dowd on my left and a Mulligan on my right – these are the words that stuck in my mind when I spoke to Jock just before he went into the auditorium, I thought is he playing that banjo or off to a boxing match?

Fantastic gig and great crowd. Bring on The Axe and bring on the big national festivals this year…THE BAND FROM COUNTY HELL ARE COMING TO GET YOU!
