Band From County Hell
No Snakes Round Here…

04 : The Drill Hall, Lincoln – 17MAR07

Well the day started well, we had gifts arrive from three different companies, all of which were to do with the Merchandising Dept; the band is in an out-of-control voyage with twelve years of hard graft coming into fruition. We had a couple of Guinness throat warmers before we embarked on our stage presence, but the boys kept alert for the first set at the Drill Hall which had sold out two weeks prior so the mood was set.

We had hand picked the support for the evening and these boys raised their game. Comic compere, young 27 yearold Paul Butcher, for me did a job that was excellent and he kept away from the blue stuff, well there was family in the building so respect, 'Gone to the Dogs' opened the night before heading onto the Brewer where we had first seen them several months earlier on a night out with Mugger, then we had Mike and Tony these boys hail from our neck of the woods and did an excellent job. They had the capacity crowd clapping and singing and dancing and swinging, so credit to them.

My auld man Jimmy was on the merchandising stall it was the only way we could keep him out of trouble overseen by oor Trace and Helzed. CD sales were at a record high and young Tom on the Bootstick did grand, twelve hours later he was still there at the aftershow gig at Christophers Bar and Restaurant where we did an impromptu session with Mad Dawg Dowd and Mugger Mulligan, fine form boys. We started at 3.00 in the afternoon and we officially stopped celebrating St Patrick's at 4.30 the next morn.

Me auld Granny got a phone call from the stage before we sung her song 'The Day My Granny Died', she was cursing like a bad un, God bless her it raised a smile. Did you know there are no snakes in Ireland because St Patrick banished them all, not even a grass snake.
